Thank you! Mount Royal Community Cleanup

On September 12, 2026 MRCA held our annual community cleanup.

We filled an entire City garbage truck, representing an estimated 15,000 lbs of waste removed from the community.

We collected approximately 3 cubic metres of electronic waste, or somewhere around 1,300 lbs of electronics that will now be properly recycled.

We filled two 18′ × 8′ trailers with reusable items for donation. We estimate that was somewhere in the range of 250–300 items and approximately 4,000–5,000 lbs of material that was diverted from the landfill and given another opportunity to be used.

We also collected 11 bicycles,

and approximately 780 gallons, or almost 3,000 litres, of paints, chemicals and other household hazardous materials for proper disposal.

We raised $137 in our bottle drive that will be split between the Earl Grey Parent Advisory Committee and Western High Football team.

When you put everything together, we dealt with well over 20,000 lbs,  more than 10 tonnes of material in a single morning.
